Bentley Cotton arrived the University of Texas Golf Club at the start of the 99th Women’s Texas Amateur with zero expectations. She left as part of Texas golf history. The Austin native and incoming freshman at the University of Texas scored a 1-up victory over Texas A&M freshman Makenzie Niblett on Cotton’s new home course as part of the UT Women’s Golf Program. - Austin's Makenzie Niblett breezed through her Thursday matches and finished as the championship's runner-up.
- Bently Cotton and Makenzie Niblett, both from Austin, advanced to play for the 99th Women's Texas Amateur title.

- Lakeway's Estelle Beck scored the biggest upset of the week when the No. 32 seed knocked off top-seeded Gurleen Kaur in the Round of 32
- 25th-seeded Hailey Jones, a three-time LJT Player of the Year, scored two upsets to make it through to the Quarterfinals.
- Stanford freshman and third-seeded Sadie Englemann won two hard-fought matches Wednesday to survive as the highest seed to advance to the Quarterfinals.
- Baylor senior Gurleen Kaur won Medalist honors and the No. 1 seed in Tuesday's Qualifying Round with a 4-under 67.
- Camryn Carreon from San Antonio won the First Flight.
- Kingwood's Hanna Alberto, the 98th Women's Texas Amateur champion, won the Second Flight.
- Piper Frisbie from Flower Mound won the Third Flight.
- Lauren Mancha from Spring Branch won the Fourth Flight.

Entry & Eligibility Information
Entries Open: June 1, 2020 @ 9:00 AM
Entries Close: June 24, 2020 @ 5:00 PM
Withdraw Date: June 24, 2020 @ 5:00 PM
Entry Fee: $275 per player
Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap index. Please reference Policies and Procedures for further details.
Entry Procedure: Lowest handicap indexes in multiples of 8 with a maximum of 64. In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the June 24, 2020 World Handicap System Handicap Revision.
Championship Information
Field Limit: The field is limited to 64 players.
Format: The 32 players with the lowest qualifying scores will fill the Championship flight and contend for the title. The remaining players will be divided into four flights of eight based on qualifying round score.
Flights with the highest handicap index of 1.5 will play from the Championship Tees.
Caddies: Caddies are not permitted during the 99th Women's Texas Amateur.
Transportation: Players are encouraged to ride in the carts during all championship rounds. Carts are limited to two(2) riders at one time and two(2) carts per group. Cart fees for all championships are included in the entry fee.
