Seol Bin Mun Wins North Medalist at The Tribute

The 2013 North Medalist #2 was played at The Tribute over the weekend under less than ideal conditions. The Tribute sits right on Lake Lewisville and being the links style course it was designed to be, is very exposed to the elements. Round one was played under windy, but warmer conditions with threats of storms and darkness looming. The larger than normal field of 50 was able to finish just before dark and hoped for better conditions for the final round. Seol Bin Mun shot even par and held a one shot lead over Danny Lovell, Buddy Trumpf, and Joel Wofford. Round 2 came with more sun, but colder temps and consistent 30 mph winds that turned the event into a test of survival. The course was also quite a bit softer after the overnight rain they received. With scores understandably higher due to the elements, it looked like it could have been anyone’s event to win. Seol Bin Mun had a different idea and backed up his first round with another exceptional round of even par that included two chips-ins for eagles within four holes to claim the victory. Mun won the event by three shots over Danny Lovell. John Bearrie and Ted Waldrip tied for third at nine over par, and Matt Bryant finished out the top 5 at ten over par.
