Pruitt Wins in a Playoff at Grapevine Golf Course

The Medalist North #2 was played this past weekend at Grapevine Golf Course.
The field for the event exceeded capacity with 42 players looking to take on
this great public facility. Players were met with cooler temperatures, wind,
and some light rain on Saturday but Michael Pruitt of Lubbock managed the
conditions well and took the first round lead with strong round of 1-over par,
73. Finishing the first round one shot behind Pruitt was Larry Corson of
Westlake with a 2-over par, 74.

Pruitt held things together in Round 2 and managed to get
into a playoff with Michael Schille of Hurst. Pruitt went on to defeat Schille
on the second playoff hole with a par to Schilles bogey. The two finished the
36-hole competition at 7-over par, 151. Following up a frustrating round of
8-over par, 80, in the first round, James Glenn recorded the low round of the
event on Sunday with an even-par, 72. Glenn went on to finish tied for second
with Ted Waldrip.
