Texas Four-Ball Shortened; Champions Add to Already Impressive Resumes

BRYAN – The Final Round of the 2015 Texas Four-Ball Championship has been canceled due to weather. After having to shorten competition to 36-holes on Friday, weather and course conditions caused the tournament to be taken down to an 18-hole championship.
 
Two-time Texas Four-Ball Champions John Bearrie of Arlington and Aaron Hickman of Addison fired an 8-under-par round of 64 on Saturday to win the Championship Division by two shots and bring home their third Four-Ball title. Meanwhile in the Senior Division, Gary Durbin and Bob Kearney of Houston fought the strong, Saturday morning winds to a 6-under 66, granting the twosome their second victory at the Texas Four-Ball Championship.
 
The seniors’ last championship win came in 2013 at the Summit Course at Horseshoe Bay. This is also Bearrie’s fifth state championship, Hickman’s fourth, and Kearney’s sixth.
 
In the Championship Division, Clint Frost and Riley Pumphrey finished second behind Bearrie/Hickman at 6-under, with the team of John Dowdall and Randy Lance finishing shortly behind at 5-under for third. Falling one stroke behind the champions, the pairs of Henry Coffman and Jim Quinn, and Mike Booker and Mike Peck tied for second in the Senior Division at 5-under.
