LJT Alums Chosen to Represent USA at 2016 World Amateur Team Championships

Dallas- Former Legends Junior Tour players Brad Dalke, who is a Sophomore at Oklahoma, and Scottie Scheffler, who is a Junior at Texas, were selected to player in the 2016 World Amateur Team Championship on Sept. 21-24.

Dalke and Scheffler combined to win 16 events on the Legends Junior Tour before going on to the collegiate level. Dalke won four times in 2010 before being named Boys 14 & Under Player of the Year. Dalke's wins at the 2010 Four-ball, the PGA Junior North, the Winter Classic and the Spring Preview helped him climb atop the Player of the Year Standings. Scheffler won the 2009 and 2010 Tylerpaper.com Championship along with the 2011 Bluebonnet Championship and 2011 Match Play Championship.

Dalke recently finished runner-up in the United States Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Scheffler qualified for the United States Open Championship at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Penn. last June.

The two former LJT players join Maverick McNealy, who is a senior at Stanford University and the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. McNealy was the recent recipient of the Mark H. McCormack Medal, which is awarded to the world's top male amateur each year.

One of the two alternates for the championship is Will Zalatoris, who owns six victories on the Legends Junior Tour of his own. Zalatoris won the 2009 Spring Preview as well as the 2009 and 2010 Four-ball before winning the United States Junior Champoinship and the 105th Texas Amateur Championship in 2014. Zalatoris currently plays golf at Wake Forest University.

The championship is being played at Mayakoba El Camaleon Golf Club and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Riviera Maya, Mexico. World Amateur Team Championship was founded in 1958 and is a biannual event. The United States has won the last two championships.
