Meet the New Women's Staff
Amy Worthington, Director of Women’s Operations
I was born and raised in Logansport, Indiana. In 2016, I graduated from Trine University with a degree in business administration with a golf management emphasis. About a month before graduation, I moved to Albuquerque, NM to start my USGA Boatwright Internship as I finished my degree online.
Sun Country is a very small association, so as the intern, I was involved with everything. I would be at every Amateur Championship as well as help with some of the PGA Section events. On top of championships, I would be out doing course ratings or be in the office helping with GHIN or any other questions that came up.
After my year-long Boatwright Internship at the Sun Country Golf Association, I was offered the Women’s Golf Director position at the Minnesota Golf Association. Women’s Golf was a new venture for the Minnesota Golf Association when I arrived because they had just merged the Minnesota Women’s Golf Association and Minnesota Public Golf Association into the MGA one month prior. I was the staff in charge at all of the women’s championships and USGA qualifiers, and was tasked with trying to find different ways to grow women’s golf through Member Days and Junior Girls’ Golf Clinics.
I am very excited for this new position at the TGA because it is an opportunity for me to learn from a historic golf state, as well as help grow women’s golf. It is also much warmer here than Indiana and Minnesota.
Andrea Daly, Women’s Tournament Coordinator
My name is Andrea Daly, and I am the new Tournament Coordinator. I graduated from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina with a Business Management Degree and a Concentration in Professional Golf Management in 2013. Once I graduated, I started working at TPC San Antonio as their Private Event Coordinator. Since then, I have been an Assistant Professional at clubs such as Pinehurst Resort, The Country Club of North Carolina, and TPC Craig Ranch.
I was very excited to become a part of the Texas Golf Association because I have a strong passion for Tournament Operations. I played in a lot of junior events when I was younger, as well as played on my high school and college golf teams. Tournaments have been a part of my life for so long that they have become somewhat of a comfort zone for me. I also like sharing other players’ successes when they win a tournament or shoot a record low score. Their reactions and happiness is why I love what I do.
Outside of work, I like to hang out and go on walks with my 6-year-old German Shepard. I also enjoy going to sporting events with my friends, and just making the most of my day. I look forward to getting to know everyone and working with you all!
