Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: August 15, 2022 at 9:00am
Entries Close: September 28, 2022 at 5:00pm
Withdraw Date: September 28, 2022 at 5:00pm

Entry Fee: $240 per player

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers who are 50 years of age or older by the first round of championship play, with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details.

Entry Procedure: In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the September 28, 2022 WHS Handicap Revision.

Championship Information

Player Field: The field is limited to 96 players

Format: The championship will be a 54-hole stroke play championship. Upon completion of the second round, the field will be broken into flights based on 36-hole scores.

What’s Included: The entry fee includes greens fees, cart fees and range fees for the practice round and all championship rounds. The entry fee will also include a championship tee gift, lunch after the first and final rounds.

Hotel Information: There is no host hotel for the Women’s Senior Stroke Play Championship. TGA Members can take advantage of Affinity Travel Benefits by utilizing their hotel search engine by clicking here.

Registration Information: There will be no player registration for the 2022 Women’s Senior Stroke Play. Players will pick up their tee gift in scoring after the first round.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Cedar Crest Golf Course on Monday, October 10. Players must contact the host club golf shop and identify themselves as a Women’s Senior Stroke Play player to schedule a practice round.

Pairings Information: Starting times and pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than Friday, October 7 by 5:00pm. Second round and final round starting times and pairings will be made available following play of the previous days round.

Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded within each flight.

Policies & Procedures

To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Texas Golf Association (TGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association.   • Caddies:  Caddies are not permitted during the championship.
  • Transportation:  Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. Players must share. Riding on the back of golf carts is prohibited.
  • Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are allowed for this championship.
  • USGA Groove Condition of Competition:  The USGA Groove Rules effective January 1, 2010 are  not in effect for this competition

TGA Medical Cart Request Policy

Spectators carts are prohibited. However, spectators in accordance with ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season.
