Entry & Eligibility Information
Entries Open: Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 5:00 PM

Entry Fee: $340 (Boys and Girls Divisions) / $320 (Boys and Girls 14 & Under Divisions)

Eligibility: Players must have a current membership with a member of the Texas Junior Golf Alliance and have full-time residency in Texas.

Entry Procedure: Players in the Boys Division must have an exemption or qualify through one of 12 Qualifying Sites. Players in the Girls Division, Boys 14U, and Girls 14U Divisions with Priority Entry Status will be added to the field first, while players without Priority Status will be added based on available spots in the field based on when they registered.  98th Texas Junior Amateur Priority Entry Page

Championship Information

Exemptions Available: Provided they meet event eligibility requirements, the champion of the Boys & Girls 15-18 Divisions at the 98th Texas Junior Amateur will receive an exemption into the 77th US Junior Amateur to be contested at Trinity Forrest Golf Club in Dallas, TX over July 21-26, 2025 and the 76th US Girls' Junior to be contested at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, GA over July 14-19, 2025. 

Format/Field Size: The championship will be an individual stroke play competition with four (4) age divisions: Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 14 & Under, and Girls 14 & Under. The Boys 15-18 Division will compete on the Island Course and the other three divisions will compete on the Lake Course. The Boys and Girls 15-18 Divisions will  play 54 holes with a cut after the second round. The Boys and Girls 14 & Under Divisions will play 36 holes.

The field is limited to 240 players, as outlined below

  • Boys 15-18 Division - 120 players
  • Girls 15-18 Division - 60 players
  • Boys 14 & Under Division - 45 players 
  • Girls 14 & Under Division - 15 players

At the conclusion of 36 holes, the Boys Division will be cut to the low 45 players (and ties) and the Girls Division will be cut to the low 27 players (and ties).

Practice Round Information: The official practice round will take place on Sunday, July 28 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The procedure for making practice round tee times will be released once the field is set.

Registration Information: Official player registration will take place on Sunday, July 27 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM next to the golf shop.

Players competing in the Boys Division must earn an exemption or qualify for the Texas Junior Amateur through one of the Qualifying Sites. Players competing in the Boys and Girls 14 & Under Division and the Girls Division gain entry through the LJT Priority Entry System.
