Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: May 1, 2024 at 9:00 AM
Exempt Entry Deadline: May 22, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Entries Close: June 19, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Entry Fee: $300

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details, including policies and procedures, and terms of competition.

Entry Procedure: The field will be established in the order in which entries are received with a priority for exempt players until the published exemption deadline of Wednesday, May 22 at 5:00 PM. Once the exemption deadline has passed, and if the field is full, the TGA will fill the remaining spots in the field with waitlisted entries. These entries will be accepted into the field in the order in which they were received.

Exemptions: Provided players are otherwise eligible, exemptions are given to the following:

a) Previous year’s Women’s Texas Amateur Champion
b) Previous year’s Women’s Texas Amateur Finalist
c) Previous year’s Women’s Texas Amateur Semi-Finalists
d) Top three (3) Finishers (and ties) in previous year’s Women’s Stroke Play
e) Top two (2) Finishers (and ties) in previous year’s Women’s Senior Stroke Play
f) Previous year’s TGA Women’s Player of the Year
g) Previous year’s TGA Women’s Senior Player of the Year
h) Two (2) host club exemptions

The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field. For exemption request details, please view TGA Women’s Competition Policies. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field.

Championship Information

Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play with no cut. The top-30 players with the lowest handicap index must play in the Championship Division. All other players will have the option to play in the Championship Division or opt out and play in the Flight Division. The Flight Division will play a separate set of tees at a shorter yardage. The field is limited to 84 player. The deadline to opt out of the Championship Division or change division is Wednesday, June 19 at 5:00 PM.

Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round on July 11, 2024 only. Players may contact the host club on or after June 24 to schedule practice rounds. All practice rounds must be scheduled by email through Christopher Cook ([email protected]). Please do not call the club to schedule practice rounds. Practice rounds will start at 10:00 AM.

Registration Information: Player registration will be held on July 11, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. If a player cannot make registration, they must notify the TGA staff that they are unable to make the registration deadline, but will be competing in the championship. Those players not contacting a TGA Official by 5:00 PM on July 11, 2024 are subject to forfeiting their playing position.

Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times / pairings for the first and second rounds will be made no later than July 8, 2024 online at www.txga.org. Final round starting times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org.

Caddies: Caddies are permitted and must adhere to all TGA Women’s Competition Policies and host club policies.

Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius user profile or by contacting the TGA Staff Contact directly. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Texas Golf Association at (214) 468-8942 or email the TGA Staff Contact directly. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.

Transportation: Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. The TGA ‘One-Seat’ Policy is in effect. Spectators must walk at all times. The host club does not have push carts available for rent.

Medical Cart: Spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided. For further information and details contact Senior Tournament Director – Chris Untiedt.

Score Posting: The TGA will post all scores for individual stroke play events to players GHIN number. Players are asked to not post scores for individual TGA stroke play events as it will result in a duplicate posting.
