Delagarza and Smith Take Home the 2019 Women’s Four-Ball Championship

Briefly: – An impressive final round surge was enough to capture the 2019 Women’s Four-Ball Championship for teammates Faith Delagarza of Midland and Amari Smith of McKinney.  Delagarza and Smith shot a remarkable 9-under round of 63 to climb to the top of leaderboard for the Final Round. “We were very good at help each other out when the other hit a bad shot or was having a bad hole,” Said Smith, “We were committed the whole time and were making all of the putts.”

Women’s Four-Ball Championship Leaderboard
 
Golf Course: The 18-hole Miller Course, designed by an internationally recognized name, Scott Miller, seems to have been carved along the natural curve of Lake Conroe. A rippling creek provides background music on the 16th and 17th holes and more water views greet players at the 3rd and 4th holes as you enjoy a shimmering 3-acre lake. Round 1 was contested at 5,967 yards.

Weather: The temperature reached 93 degrees with steady winds at 7 mph out of the west.

In Contention: In second place the team of Kiersten Bryant and Samantha Garza of San Antonio stayed consistent matching their first round score of 67 to shoot an impressive 10-under for their 36-hole round total.
In Solo third came the team of Amelia McKee of Spring and Jordan Shackelford of Austin with a 36-hole total of 6-under.

What’s Next: The 2019 Women’s Senior Stroke play Championship in College Station on October 7-9.
