Waldrip Wins at The Tribute

(The Colony) After
being rescheduled due to a snow and ice storm on its original date, the
Medalist North #1 was finally played this past weekend at The Tribute Golf Club
in The Colony. The 48-player field was met with less than ideal conditions, but
battled through lightening, rain, and wind to decide the 36-hole event.

The first round started on Saturday, but players would be
pulled off the golf course about half way through the round due to lightening.
The field was unable to resume play on Saturday and all but three players would
have to return to the golf course on Sunday morning to finish the first round
before teeing off in round 2. Ted Waldrip finished his first round on Sunday
morning with a 2-under par, 69, to take a 5-shot lead into the final round. Despite shooting a final round of 7-over par,
79, Waldrip would go on to win the event by two shots under extremely difficult
conditions. Finishing alone in second place was Taylor Grant, who recorded the
best score of the second round by 4 shots with a 1-over par, 73.
